Anytime you’re hungry or thirsty – When you’re dehydrated or dieting, there is less activity in your mouth and less reason for your body to produce saliva. That means bad breath. During these times, try to drink more liquids and have something small to eat. A simple stick of chewing gum or a mint is enough to spark saliva and keep breath from getting bad.

After alcoholic drinks – Beverages with alcohol can make your mouth dry and cause bad breath. To prevent this problem, alternate alcoholic drinks with water and make sure to floss after drinking.
